Response:I would give David, the main character, some advice to follow his heart. He has a feud with his writing dragon, Gadzooks, and he's neglecting him because he's helping him too much. What he doesn't realize is that Gadzooks is himself. I would tell him to follow Gadzooks because he is a part of David, the writing part of him. After reading the book, I felt that he did the right thing by apologizing to him and continue writing Snigger and the Nutbeast, a book for Lucy, who is his tennant's daughter. If he still had been so unhappy and mad, he probaly wouldn't have been able to make Lucy happy, not be able to solve a mystery he wanted to know about, and probaly have never been able to write another story again because the writing part would have died. Like acting, when writing skills get unused, they wither away eventually to nothing. One of my favorite quotes from David was "All I want is a nice, happy, believable ending." because it shows how troubled he was. So much was going on, with his story, and many other things that you'll have to read the book to find out about. Since I finished this book, I'll probaly read the sequel, Icefire, to see what happens next. I read some of it, and it was pretty good.
