TITLE: The Innocent Man TIME: 2 Hrs. 21 Seconds

AUTHOR: John Grisham PAGES 39-119

TOTAL PAGES THIS WEEK: 80

RESPONSE:

I think that this book is a bit confusing because it jumps back and forth between events. For example, one moment is about the crime scene, the next is about the suspect's history (from when he was born to the day of the crime), then the next is about another crime scene. It just jumps a bit too much. I think that the author should have explained the background of the characters first and then slowly unfolded the plot. I also think that young adults should read it, and not me because I still don't understand the many things that the author is talking about, and has quite a few curse words. Most of them are spoken by the police, surprisingly.

It surprises me that there is more than one crime involved in this book. It surprises me so because the summary only mentions one crime, and I think that the other crime should be a good bit of reading, as much as the first one. What are the crimes? You'll have to read to find out. Most of the characters I don't like because they do drugs and drink beer. Most of them have a jail record, and the main suspect has two rapes and one theft behind him, which is the likely reason that he is suspected of raping Debbie Carter.
